This body butter is incredibly luxurious and nourishing. Because of the rose oil, it smells delicious too.
Macadamia nuts contain a high concentration of palmitic acid, a natural component of human skin that helps to maintain good epidermal moisture levels. Your natural palmitic acid levels reduce with increasing age, so using macadamia nuts topically is ideal for those looking for an anti-ageing solution.
The properties of macadamia nuts and coconut oil mean that the body butter is easily absorbed - but will leave your skin supple and moisturised for hours.
All you need:
150g macadamia nuts, soaked in cold water for at least 7 hours to soften
50g Sister & Co. coconut oil
5 drops organic rose essential oil (readily available at health food shops)
Optional: 2 vitamin E capsules, broken open
All you need to do: place the ingredients together in a food processor and blend for about a minute until you have a smooth paste and all the grains have been broken down - stop every so often to scrape down the sides. Transfer to a small container. Keep in the fridge in warm weather to keep its creamy texture.
